The famous Pepper Biscuit ( Hor Chio Pia) in Penang

You can find the famous Pepper Biscuit at the ground floor shop in this People's Court off Cintra Street in Penang.

The shop is "Leong Chee Kee Biscuits". It is located at 8-C, People's Court, Campbell Street, off Cintra Street, 10100 Penang . It is open from 10 am to 6 pm daily Monday to Saturday. It closes on Sunday.

The Pepper Biscuit is sold at RM4 per pack.

The Pepper Biscuit is very thin & crunchy.

You can see the thickness of the pepper biscuits

It is very difficult to transport as it breaks easily.

There is a history on the Pepper Biscuit in Penang. Mr Leong How Keng's father, Mr Leong Chee Kee came from Canton, China before World War II and invented the Coconut Tart, Egg Tarts and the Pepper Biscuits. There is a little booklet done by Anak-Anak Kota in collaboration with Penang Heritage Trust on Traditional Food. The famous traditional food sold by Leong Chee Kee Biscuit are Coconut Tart ( Ia Chee Kok), Egg Tarts ( Khay Nui Ko) and Pepper Biscuits ( Hor Chio Pia).
