Ta Prohm - Siem Reap, Cambodia

We visited Ta Prohm in Siem Reap, Cambodia. This is the first part of two parts of this Buddhist of Bayon style temple constructed between 12th century and early 13th century during the reign of Jayavarman VII.

Of similar design to the later Jayavarman VII temples of Preah Khan and Banteay Kdei, this sprawling monastic complex is only partially cleared of jungle overgrowth.

Intentionally left partially unrestored, massive fig and silk-cotton trees grow fromthe towers and corridors offering a 'jungle atmosphere' and some of the best 'tree-in-temple' photo opportunities at Angkor.
