Vietnamese Pho Restaurant in Singapore

We missed the Pho in Ho Chin Minh City so much that we looked for a Vietnamese restaurant for lunch recently. We managed to find the PHo 24 Vietnamese Restaurant ( franchise) in Singapore.

PHO24 has two outlets, one in 9 Raffles Boulevard #01-26 Millenia Walk and the other is located at 215M Upper Thomson Road.

PHO24 is located in one of the shop houses along Upper Thomson Road. Parking is a challenge as it is difficult to find a car park near the restaurant.

The Menu PHO24 offers over here is almost the same as those in Ho Chi Minh City except there is a set lunch menu over here.

The garnish to be added to your Pho Soup : lime, bean sprouts, onions, chilli and Basil Leaves

Pho Brisket Chin (Beef)

The Pho Chick Ga (Chicken Meat)

Pho Brisket Chin (Beef)

The soup is very tasty and the Pho or (koay teow as what we called them over here) is very thin and narrow.

Fried Spring Rolls - Cha Gio

We ordered the same dishes as we did in Ho Chi Minh City. They are as good and authentic except they are more expensive. The portion offered is bigger.

We recommend you try out the PHO24 restaurant in Singapore before you leave for your Vietnam tour or visit.

MAY Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

If you are going to Ho Chi Minh City and looking for a clean reasonable priced three-star hotel, we recommend you consider the MAY hotel. We booked through Asiarooms on-line and paid S$106 per room per night with 2 buffet international breakfast.

The MAY Hotel is located at 28-30 Thi Sach St, Ben Nghe Ward, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Tel No : (84-8) 8234501 . Website : www.mayhotel.com.vn

The reception area with internet booths available for rental situated at the left of the area.

The moving table lamp in the lobby in the evening.

The bedroom with 2 Queen beds.

The toilet in the bathroom.

The hotel is Vietnamese family owned and is only one year old. Everybody is friendly, from receptionists to the bell captain. The hotel is clean and new.

If you are going on a tour, do not book through the hotel but to go down to TNK Travel to book your tours. It is cheaper to do that even though you have to take a taxi to the office to start your tour bus.

Hawkers in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

Don't be surprised to see hawkers selling their wares in Ho Chi Minh City.

Even though there are hawkers in Food Courts in shopping malls, there are still many hawkers selling food on the side-walks of roads around Ho Chi Minh City.

Locals are enjoying their food on the road-side sitting on low stools.

Even in places near the hotels, there are hawkers selling food on the road-side.

A typical hawker selling buns and other food on the road-side.

Vietnamese Architecture in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

The Buildings are all very narrow. The architecture is only special to the Vietnamese buildings.

Scenery of garden of restaurant on way back to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

The bus that took us to the Mekong Delta brought us to the restaurant for a afternoon break and rest before we head home to Ho Chi Minh City.

The scenery is beautiful especially with the lotus plants in the pond.

The scenery of the garden with lotus plants in the pond made the surroundings very soothing for a rest with a cup of tea.

Finally, we were on the way back to Ho Chi Minh City where we ended our US$9 tour to the Mekong Delta with full satisfaction.

Flowers in a garden & Arts in a shop on way back to Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam

Along the National Highway, we took a afternoon restroom break on the way back to Ho Chi Minh City. We found Vietnamese gardeners in their well-known hats doing weeding under the hot sun. What a fantastic shot? Don't you think so?
