Depicting the typical home of a rich Baba of more than a century ago, the opulent lifestyle of these locally acculturated Chinese is recreated in the Pinang Peranakan Mansion to offer a glimpse of their many customs and traditions.
More than just a Baba-Nyonya museum, this century-old stately mansion of eclectic design and architecture incorporates Chinese carved-wood panels with English floor tiles and Scottish iron-works.
Built at the end of the 19th century by one of local history's famous personalities, the "Hai Kee Chan" or Sea Remembrance Store had once served a the residence and office of Kapitan Cina Chung Keng Kwee.
At the Pinang Peranakan Mansion, the legacies of the Peranakans are not only commemorated but the restoration of this building complex also heralds the preservation of Penang's unique architectural history. ( The above text & information re-produced from the brochure)
We visited the Pinang Peranakan Mansion and spent almost 3 hours in the building. We would recommend you to pay it a visit if you are interested in Heritage Building or Peranakan culture.

Restoran Crab Village in Penang
We went to this Crab Village Restaurant located at 547 Mukim 18, Tanjung Bungah, 11200 Penang for dinner when a colleague visited Penang recently. It is along Jalan Tanjung Bungah next to Hollywood Restaurant.
The back of the restaurant which is facing the sea. You can enjoy your dinner with the very scenic sight of the beach and the sea. It is extremely cool and nice to be dining in the open in the evening.
The scenery of the beach and sea with all the fishing boats anchored after their daily fishing trips in the sea.
The crabs are baked in the Chinese wok until it is like it has been barbequed. It is a special seafood dish (Wok-baked Crabs) that are only available in Penang. Be prepared to pay RM52 for a kilogram of the wok-baked egg crabs.
Other side dishes : Or Chien Special salted fish fried rice
We had a good dinner. The wok-baked crab was very fresh and delicious especially the egg of crabs. The fried rice and Or Chien are also very good. Highly recommended.
