Penang Food : Dessert

We were looking for a place for dessert after having our lunch during our recent visit to Penang. We found this dessert shop in Jalan Nagor called SUGAR DYNASTY Food Delight. They have more than 40 types of Hong Kong style dessert to choose from.

Haagen-Dazs Ice-cream in Auto-City, Juru, Penang Mainland, Malaysia

There are many food outlets in this Auto-City located along the N-S Highway in Juru, Penang Mainland, Malaysia, from western to fusion food. We went there during lunch time and it was very hot as there are not many trees around. It would be nice to be there in the evening. We managed to find a Haagen-Dazs ice-cream outlet for ice-cream after our lunch to cool down.

World Heritage Site : Georgetown, Penang, Malaysia

We visited Georgetown recently after it was chosen by UNESCO as a World Heritage site. There are many interesting sites to visit and we managed to visit only some of them as seen on photographs taken above. Do visit Georgetown if you are interested in Heritage site.

A visit to the Air Itam Reservoir, Penang

You need a car to get up to the Air Itam Reservoir. You have to drive through Jalan Ayer Itam, Jalan Pasar, past the Air Itam market and then through the base of Kek Lok Si Temple, all the way to the reservoir. Along the way you can make 2 stops to visit the Kek Lok Si Temple as well.
The road up is very narrow and watch out for coming vehicles though there are not many vehicles along the stretch of road up to the reservoir.
The scenery of the reservoir with the landscape blooming with many flowers is beautiful and worth visiting if you have a few hours to spare when you are in Penang.

Visit to Fort Cornwallis in Penang, Malaysia

The Fort Cornwallis is located directly in front of Old Esplanade and in the Padang Kota Lama.

Look for this landmark : Taman Kota Lama along Jalan Tun Syed Sheh Barakbah





Fort Cornwallis was built on the site of Sir Francis Light's historic landing in 1786. Originally a wooden stockade, it is now a concrete structure and currently houses cannons, a history gallery, cafe, handicraft and souvenir centre as well as an open-air amphitheatre.

We visited the Fort Cornwallis during our recent visit to Penang and it was an experience taking in the history of the area and Penang.

Visit to the Burmese Buddhist Temple in Penang

The Burmese Buddhist Temple is located in Lorong Burma. It is directly opposite the Thai Buddhist Temple. It is a tourist attraction. We visited the temple during our recent visit to Penang and there are many locals and tourists in the temple.
